Imperial and Royal Observatory at Prag
Highly honoured Mr. Director! I am pleased to send you this photo of the Imperial and Royal Observatory at Prag which was taken a few days ago on February 2, 1884 (the observatory is part of the so called "Klementinum" which is situated on the right hand side of the Moldau bank and it was built in 1757 on the suggestion of the Jesuit Josef Stepling; on this very same place the son Ludwig of the great Kepler was born.) I would be pleased to get an illustration of your observatory or their major instruments, to add these as a valuable addition to the collection of the Imperial and Royal Observatory at Prag.
Most respectfully and with thousand thanks,
Your most obedient professor Dr. L. Weinek director of the Imperial and Royal Observatory at Prag. February 14, 1884.
