This clock was made by Parkinson & Frodsham in London, England. It was ordered by the Depot of Charts and Instruments about 1839. It was first used on July 26, 1841 at the Capitol Hill Observatory. It was then dismounted on July 2 1842. It was later remounted at the new observatory on 24th and E Street, NW. It was probably used in the west wing of the observatory with the 5.3 inch transit instrument. It is currently located in the Scientific Director's Office.
